Message from the Principal’s Office

Tilak College of Education, Pune is committed to the pursuit of excellence in teacher education. The institution follows outcome-based academic practices and continuous quality assurance. Guided by its Vision and Mission, and supported by the Institutional Development Plan (IDP 2025–2030), the College prepares professionally competent, ethically grounded, and socially responsive teachers. Its academic focus responds to the evolving needs of school education and society.

Academic and administrative functioning is based on systematic planning and transparent governance. Decision-making is participative and policy-driven. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) plays a central role in planning, monitoring, and reviewing institutional processes. All activities are aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, NAAC quality indicators, and regulatory frameworks. Statutory committees, policy frameworks, and documented procedures support evidence-based improvement and accountability.

In alignment with the IDP 2025–2030, the institution emphasises innovative teaching–learning practices, integration of Indian Knowledge Systems, inclusive education, research and innovation, and digital initiatives. Engagement with schools, alumni, and the community is an integral part of academic functioning. These initiatives are implemented through structured governance units and are periodically reviewed for outcomes and impact, thereby strengthening the professional preparation of student-teachers and contributing to the broader development of the education sector.

Leadership Continuity

With effect from 3rd October 2025, the responsibilities of the Principal are carried out by the Officiating Principal Dr. Dipak Chavan. The institution continues to function through established governance structures and quality assurance systems, ensuring continuity, stability, and adherence to institutional values during the leadership transition.
